What’s a Diploma Worth? |
||||
|
|
A recent report from the Youth Service
Bureau in conjunction with the US Department of Labor states the importance
of a HS diploma. Here are several
reasons why it is important to finish high school and earn a diploma. Only 15% of today’s jobs are for
the unskilled but even those employers hire educated adults first. High school dropouts have 42% less
buying power or credit than there educated peers. The military only accepts a GED if a
student scores extremely high on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude
Battery (ASVAB) test. A college
diploma garners an earning rate of over 89% more than a high school diploma
which earns more than 68% than a GED.
A high school dropout will earn approximately $350,000 less than a
high school graduate. In common
sense terminology…it’s worth having! |
