PASSPORT:  neck or waist holder,

 

INSURANCE:  Several possibilities.  Make sure to check with current insurance to see what you need or purchase all inclusive through travel company.

 

CREDIT CARDS, TRAVELERS CHECKS:  Notify banks for the cards you will be carrying that you will be out of the country, check for fees if you are using a debit card (conversion, bank, ATM). We will ATM most, make sure you know the pin number.

 

LUGGAGE and backpacks:   EF will send us a backpack.  Make sure you can handle your luggage, wheels are good for transfers!  You may be lugging that suitcase up four flights of stairs that with only 4 ft to maneuver.  

 

DO SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF

Buy small bottles of products (All liquid/cream/gel products in carry on must fit    inside a quart – sized bag.  No exceptions.  Must be easily accessible.

Film and batteries are sooo expensive, bring plenty

Setting down passport - money bags on neck, waist, AT ALL TIMES

Converter and/or adapters ( Can find in Walmart)

Alarm clocks/Promptness

Drugs in original bottles ,

NO hard liquor, need parent signature for wine and beer

Curfew

Parents-give your expectations for their behavior. I am the chaperone not the parent.  I will do bed check once.

Prescription for glasses or contacts to take with you

Email parents

Take plastic straps for luggage security if zippers are not dependable

check weather channel.  It can get quite cool this time of year.

Lomotil or OTC, decongestants or non-drowsy cold remedies, bandaids

Camaras 

Foreign currencies/we will use euros and pounds

Travelers checks in the event that a card becomes damaged or an emergency card in the case that a parent needs to transfer money to another card.

Swiss knives, scissors that you purchase in Switzerland in large suitcase or checked luggage but NOT in carry on.

Not too many shoes but tennis shoes a must

Jacket, umbrella (watch the weight) pants, layering, appropriate wear for Cathedrals, also must remove jacket and shoes at security

Bring luggage locks for use in hotels.  TSA locks if locking luggage for flight.

Bring extra bag (foldable) to pack for one night or for gifts.

TIP MONEY DUE BEFORE DEPARTURE.  $115 each traveler

We will meet at my house at 10:30 AM and travel together to the airport.    I will have your airline tickets and will give them to you right before we leave.  Place the ticket with your passport.

Hand luggage: 40 lbs, checked bags 50 lbs.

Label bags inside and out with name, address, cell and home #’s
