Indoor Recess

Good afternoon, SFJH Staff, Parents, and Students!

The weather hasn’t been very cooperative for outdoor recess today, and we know there may be additional days throughout the year when outdoor recess isn’t an option. Currently, our turf room is not accessible while the band finishes moving out of that space. In the meantime, students are welcome to bring a small, school-appropriate card or board game to keep in their backpack or locker for indoor recess days. Please make sure games are easy to store, appropriate for school, and clearly labeled with the student’s name so we can make sure they get back to the correct owner.

Even once the turf room is available again, we know that space can sometimes feel loud or crowded for some students. Having a few quieter activities available gives students another option during indoor recess and allows them to choose an activity that is comfortable and enjoyable for them. Students can simply keep these games in their backpack or locker so they are handy whenever the need arises.
